Who We Are
Background
The North West Community Wealth Building Partnership is an approach led by Community Anchor organisations based in the North West, to work in partnership with the statutory and private sectors to improve the lives of people, support inclusive and sustainable economic growth and create more successful places.
The Department for Communities have commissioned Development Trust Northern Ireland to establish a number of Community Wealth Building Hubs across Northern Ireland and this builds upon the recently launched Community Wealth Building report that was launched by the DfC Minister in October 2022. The North West Community Wealth Building Partnership aims to work with other Hubs established across Northern Ireland.
Purpose
The North West Community Wealth Building Partnership will deliver a joined-up, collaborative, and participative approach to services, land, and buildings, within a place, enabling better outcomes and increased opportunities for people and communities to shape their own lives.
The Partnership will use and influence the use of economic levers to develop resilient, inclusive local economies with more local spend and inclusive fair employment, as well as a larger and more diverse business base, ensuring that wealth is more locally owned and benefits local people.
